Composite Bonding: Transform Your Smile with Natural-Looking Results and Expert Care in Leicester

Composite bonding is a transformative dental procedure that enhances the aesthetics of your smile by reshaping and repairing teeth using a tooth-coloured composite resin. Many individuals struggle with issues like chipped teeth, gaps, or discolouration, which can affect their confidence. Composite bonding offers a solution that not only addresses these concerns but also provides a natural-looking finish.

What is Composite Bonding and How Does the Procedure Work?

Composite bonding is a dental procedure used to change the shape of teeth for better aesthetics. To initiate the process, you should book a smile consultation to discuss your needs and treatment options. During this consultation, a diagnosis and treatment plan will be created.

The procedure typically involves applying a tooth-coloured composite resin to the teeth, which is then shaped and polished to achieve the desired appearance. This technique allows for a seamless blend with your natural teeth, enhancing your smile's overall look. If you want to proceed with composite bonding, it is recommended to first consider straightening and whitening your teeth for optimal aesthetic results.

What materials are used in composite bonding and how is the resin applied?

Composite bonding utilizes a durable composite resin that is designed to withstand normal chewing forces. The resin is applied directly to the tooth surface, shaped to match the natural contours of your teeth, and then hardened using a special curing light. This process ensures a strong bond and a natural appearance.

Modern advancements in dental materials, particularly composite resins, have made achieving highly natural and durable aesthetic results more accessible than ever before.

The composite bonding treatment at Smile Serenity typically involves several key stages:

  • Consultation: Discuss your dental needs and treatment options with the dental team. We will discuss smile design choices and take photos for treatment planning.

  • Preparation: The tooth surface is prepared for bonding, often with minimal or no enamel removal, ensuring a clean and suitable area for the resin.

  • Application: The composite resin is applied, shaped, and polished to achieve the desired look.

  • Final Check: The dentist will ensure that the bonding matches your natural teeth and fits comfortably.

  • Review appointment: 2 week review appointment for further refinements.

How Much Does Composite Bonding Cost in Leicester and What Finance Options Are Available?

The cost of composite bonding in Leicester can vary based on several factors, including the complexity of the procedure and the materials used. Typically for edge bonding, it is £250 per tooth and for the full coverage of the tooth shape, it is £500 per tooth.

What factors influence the price of composite bonding per tooth?

The price of composite bonding per tooth is influenced by the material selected and the amount of tooth surface that needs to be treated. Factors such as the extent of damage and the specific techniques used can also affect the overall cost. Dentistry is a combination of art, science and engineering and our dental team continue to pursue the latest techniques in the evolving world of high end dentistry.

If i need a filling or in pain, what kind of appointment should i book ?

We would recommend an urgent appointment, which is where we look at the specific problem and then hopefully treat it the same day. The cost of the urgent appointment is £55 and this includes a periapical x-ray to assess a single tooth or few teeth in the area as well as a diagnosis and treatment plan. Any treatment selected from the treatment plan by the patient will have it's own cost on top.

How much does my filling cost?

Depends on the material selected and how much tooth surface needs to be filled. A white composite filling will range from £180-£500.

How long will my filling last for?

Depends on the material selected and how much tooth surface needs to be filled. On average a white composite filling can last 5 years but this depends on oral hygiene habits/diet as well as how heavily restored the tooth is. We recommend a dental crown if you have lost 50% of your original tooth, as this would give your tooth better strength compared to a filling. Crowns on average can last 20 years. There are advantages and disadvantages of both treatments.

I want to change the shape of my front teeth with composite bonding for better aesthetics, what appointment should i book?

You should book a free smile consultation to talk about your needs and the treatment options for your desired smile. There is a refundable deposit of a £20 refundable deposit for securing the appointment. This amount is returned back to you after attending the appointment. If you need to cancel or rebook, please make sure you give more than 24 hours notice from your appointment time. Any appointments missed or cancelled late notice or without notice will result in losing the deposit according to our FTA policy. We recommend straightening teeth, whitening teeth and composite bonding in that order for the best result for aesthetics.

Can i book my appointment online?

Yes, we provide online booking as well as booking your appointment over the phone or within the practice.

Are you wheel-chair accessible?

Yes we are and we provide disabled bathroom facilities.

Do you have onsite parking?

Yes we do, we have plenty of parking onsite and we are located close to Fosse Park Shopping Centre in Leicester.
