  • Removable – Take them out to eat, brush, and for special occasions

  • Comfortable – Smooth plastic with no metal brackets or wires to irritate your mouth

What Can Invisalign Treat?

Invisalign clear aligners can effectively correct a wide range of orthodontic concerns, including:

Crowded Teeth

When there isn't enough space in your jaw, teeth can overlap and twist, making them difficult to clean and increasing your risk of gum disease and tooth decay.

Gapped Teeth

Spaces between teeth can be caused by abnormal jaw growth, missing teeth, or habits like thumb sucking. Gaps can lead to gum problems and affect your bite.

Overbite

When upper teeth overlap the lower teeth too much, it can lead to gum irritation, wear on the lower teeth, and jaw pain.

Underbite

When lower teeth protrude past the upper teeth, it can prevent normal function of front teeth and molars, leading to tooth wear and jaw problems.

Cross-bite

When upper and lower jaws are misaligned, it can cause teeth to wear unevenly, gum disease, and bone loss.

Open Bite

When upper and lower teeth don't meet, it can make chewing difficult and may cause speech issues and excessive wear on back teeth.

During your free consultation, we'll assess your specific needs and determine if Invisalign is the right solution for you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign

Is Invisalign painful?

Invisalign is generally much more comfortable than traditional braces. You may experience mild pressure when switching to new aligners, which is a sign that the treatment is working. Any discomfort typically subsides within 2-3 days and is easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief if needed.

How long do I need to wear Invisalign aligners each day?

For optimal results, aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours per day. You'll only remove them for eating, drinking (except water), brushing, and flossing. Consistent wear is essential for staying on track with your treatment timeline.

Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?

You must remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This protects the aligners from staining and damage while allowing you to enjoy all your favourite foods without restrictions. Simply brush your teeth before reinserting your aligners.

Will Invisalign affect my speech?

Most patients adjust to wearing aligners within a few days with minimal impact on speech. You may notice a slight lisp initially, but this quickly resolves as your mouth adapts. Many patients report that Invisalign affects speech far less than traditional braces.

How often do I need to visit the dentist during treatment?

Check-ups are typically scheduled every 4-8 weeks at our Leicester practice. These brief appointments allow us to monitor your progress, provide your next sets of aligners, and ensure everything is progressing as planned.

What happens if I lose an aligner?

Contact us immediately if you lose an aligner. Depending on your stage of treatment, we may advise wearing your previous set, moving to the next set, or ordering a replacement. This can come at a additional charge so it is very important to take care of your aligners within its case.

Can Invisalign fix severe orthodontic problems?

Modern Invisalign technology can treat a wide range of orthodontic issues, including many complex cases. During your free consultation, we'll assess your specific situation and discuss whether Invisalign is the best solution or if alternative treatments would be more suitable.

Will I need to wear a retainer after Invisalign?

Yes, retainers are essential for maintaining your beautiful new smile. After completing Invisalign treatment, you'll wear retainers (typically at night) to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back. We'll provide custom retainers and detailed instructions for long-term success.

How much does Invisalign cost in Leicester?

Invisalign costs at Smile Serenity start from £2,500 depending on the complexity of your case. We offer 0% interest free finance over 12 months as well as finance up to 5 years with interest rates being applied.

How is Invisalign different from other clear aligners?

Invisalign is the world's most advanced clear aligner system, backed by over 20 years of innovation and over 14 million smiles transformed worldwide. Only Invisalign uses SmartTrack material and SmartForce attachments for precise, predictable results. When you choose Smile Serenity, you're choosing certified Invisalign expertise.

Do i need to wear Retainers for life?

As long as you want straight teeth, we recommend wearing a retainer every night. The idea of having to wear a retainer for life can be daunting or a hassle but in reality it becomes second nature and quite comfortable.

How long does Invisalign take to straighten my teeth?

On average it takes 6-12 months but there are instances it can be less or even more than this range. It depends on the system being used and the complexity of the bite. Aligners are dependant on patient compliance meaning they need to be worn 22 hours of every day. Each aligner is worn between 1-2 weeks before moving onto the next aligner. You take out the aligner when eating, typically 3 times a day, and this allows teeth to be cleaned well unlike with braces which are fixed.

What is interproximal reduction ? (IPR) and does it hurt?

Inter-proximal reduction (IPR) is the process of removing a fraction of a (mm) of enamel between teeth so that they can make room for each other for straight alignment. The process does not hurt and we will never remove all your enamel. This process is far more conservative compared to teeth extractions in the past. IPR is not necessary for everyone but it is ideal for teeth that are heavily crowded/overlapping.

What are attachments?

Attachments are white composite fillings that are in different shapes, which get bonded to your teeth and results in forces to be applied to teeth to rotate, torque and align teeth into the correct position. We use composite filling material to match the shade of your enamel, so that it blend with the tooth compared to metal brackets with metal braces.

What are refinements?

Refinements are additional aligners that are needed when teeth have not moved the exact position that the simulation of the Clincheck or Lumiplan was aiming for.

Can i book my appointment online?

Yes, we provide online booking as well as booking your appointment over the phone or within the practice.

Are you wheel-chair accessible?

Yes we are and we provide disabled bathroom facilities.

Do you have onsite parking?

Yes we do, we have plenty of parking onsite and we are located close to Fosse Park Shopping Centre in Leicester.
